ETERNAL SEA

She calls me back to her full embrace.

Her restless breath whispering in my ear. Her fragrant perfume of salt and brine. Her tragic waves that eternally beckon.

She insists. I relent.

She calls me back to her full embrace.

Four days adrift in a cerulean sea I resolve to implore my demise. Weak, I am, and blistered from the torturous sun.

I beseech her. She obliges.

She calls me back to her full embrace.

Softly, she pulls me into the swell of her bosom, enveloping me. My compulsive struggle engulfed in her abyss.

She persists. I acquiesce.

Tenderly, she suffocates me and presents me as a feast. And as I feel the last bit of light fade from my being I am grateful to her for her mercy.
